Hey Scotty,
I've recently came across your youtube channel and I gotta say I love the content.
I started to research the used car market because I'm thinking of getting a "new" car. By "new" I mean used car 🙂
I saw in one of your videos that you recommended the Honda Accord. I have to say I fell in love with that car and I am seriously thinking about buying one.
Now, the problem is I live in Romania. The Honda Accord from what I've seen is not really that popular around here. It does have a small but loyal fan base and the local forums and dedicated Facebook groups are praising it. Local sell ads barely have a handful of Honda Accords for sale. Anyway if I am to finally buy one it would most likely be from Germany, simply because I don't trust Romanian car owners that much ( it's a long story).
What would this mean in the long run? Meaning, would it cost more to maintain it? Would parts be scarce and more expensive? Would auto shops lack experience with this model of it's not that popular?
Thanks a lot. Cheers.
The first thing you want to do is visit your local auto part stores & enquire if they sell parts for your potential Honda Accord. If they don’t, or if parts are exorbitant, I’d stop right there & shift focus to another car.
Start there & let us know.
The hardest part about car ownership is having something break, and not finding parts to fix it, or finding parts which equal/exceed the value of the car itself.
If genuine parts are easy to find & cheap, I’d say go right ahead with the Accord, after a professional Honda mechanic thoroughly checks out the car, before purchase.
Do your research really well on this one, before you part away with any money (import & custom duties/fees/taxes).
Keep us posted..
Isn't the European Accord just an Acura TSX? Parts and repairs get expensive on those even here in the states.
