Should I buy this 1995 Accord manual with 100,000 kms?

I'm looking at a 5th gen japanese 1995 Honda Accord EX, with 100.000 km (62.000 Miles). Maintenance records (every 5.000km at dealership), one owner. 5 speed manual.

For $3.000. (new accords cost over 50k where I live). Is this a good buy? Anything to look out for?

If they can prove that is the real mileage with service records then have a mechanic check it out. If it passes the inspection, buy it! Keep in mind the age though, it would be a better second car than a daily driver, but either would work with that low miles. A member here has 270.000 miles (440.000 kilometers) on their same generation Accord. The weakest spot would be the automatic transmission but the manuals are basically bulletproof.

The problem with a car that old with very low mileage is that it's very likely been sitting for a long time without being driven which is not good for cars. My 07 went a little while without being driven before I bought it and it has 115k miles on it now just to give you some perspective. If the person selling can PROVE that the car wasn't just sitting for years and if it runs and drives good might be a good buy. Either way Scotty always recommends you have a mechanic you trust check the car before purchase.

I would get it checked out by a mechanic to verify the mileage and check for anything that may be in need of replacement due to age.

If it checks out, sounds like a decent deal.

Yes, the weak link on those cars was the automatic transmission. Where that car has a manual transmission it can last forever.

Are you using it as weekender or your main daily driver?

Second car/daily driver.

Update:

I bought the car, the km are real. Needs some small things, but overall a good car. Always garage stored, so the paint is like-new. Thanks for the tips.
