Hi Scotty,
I have a brand new (4500 miles) 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road with the V6 engine and an automatic transmission. It’s my first pickup truck, and I bought it because I know that it can last a long time if properly maintained. Overall I love the truck, but I do find it to be a little lacking in acceleration, even with no passengers and minimal added weight - especially when entering the highway or when passing. I’m considering my options for adding more power. Is installing a supercharger something that is worth considering or could this wreck the reliability of the vehicle?
Thanks!
Thanks for the input folks, you’ve convinced me to leave my new engine well enough alone.
Just pretend your Air conditioner button is the Turbo Boost like on Knight Rider, except that you turn it off.
I owned a 98 4Runner with the under-powered V6.
I don't care what people say, I always made it up the hill, eventually.
Supercharge my Tacoma?
Are you going to drag race it?
have a brand new (4500 miles) 2023 Toyota Tacoma ... It’s my first pickup truck,
why do that to a sparkling new vehicle, and your first truck?
I know that it can last a long time if properly maintained
well you can forget that if you start modifying the engine
I do find it to be a little lacking in acceleration
Yah .... it's a truck. Get a sports car if want to zoom around.
But 278 hp/265 lb-ft is nothing to sneeze at.

Absolutely not worth voiding the warranty , and you can forget about the legendary reliability.
I think you should be happy with your very nice truck, and maybe enjoy it for a bit before you start pimping it. Or sell it to someone likes reliable trucks and get yourself a muscle car or something.
Just to start with it will void your warranty and put excess stress on the engine, reducing its service life.
