The 3/4-ton pickup war F-250 vs Ram 2500 vs Silverado

Hey Scotty, out of all the brand new 3/4-ton pickups in the market with a diesel engine, which one is the best in reliability and longevity. I change oil and oil filter every 5,000-6,000 miles and I use 100% synthetic Amsoil. I don't want to brag but I keep my cars well maintained, out of the sun, clean interior and exterior, and waxed.

Thank you!

Kirby

3/4 ton diesel

1. CUMMINS 6.7

2. FORD 6.7 Powerstroke

The 68RFE transmission Ram uses is eh, not great but not fantastic. Change fluid every 30k mi and be overall easy on it.

The 10R80 Ford uses does have its issues no doubt. But people are buying them aplenty and most seem to be operating like they should.

What I’m getting at is the transmissions in these trucks are eh at best. However, both motors are fantastic. Why I choose CUMMINS over the Powerstroke is only because that 6.7 is a beast of a motor. The Powerstroke definitely coming in at a close 2nd.

Why I didn’t mention GM, well because people simply aren’t buying them like they used to. The people I work with and meet all the time rely on these diesels for their livelihood and more and more are going the RAM and Ford route and forgetting GM altogether. They buy the lowest trim packages to avoid all the fancy junk and they put em to work.
