[Solved] Think about buying a used 1989 G20 Chevy Van

I found a 1989 Chevy G20 Van on Facebook marketplace, it was listed for $1000, however I got the price brought down to $600 due to her needing it gone. This Van is equipped with a 350 small block V8, automatic transmission, and reads 340,000 km on the dash. It also has it's typical rust spots. She said it was parked for the last year and a half. Only issue she said it had was the serpentine belt made a noise. I'm not to familiar with Chevy Vans, is this a bad buy, should I keep looking? Are these Vans even worth it?

Update, I didn't proceed with the Van, it wouldn't start when I put a new battery and new gas in it. I have a Van already anyways. Thank you for the support, I'm surprised how fast everyone puts in there two cents.

Well you don't get much for $600 these days if the thing runs and shifts what the heck why not they're pretty solid built back in the day

The Cheverolet 350cid engine was a decent powerplant- it was used in many of their cars and trucks, my '73 Malibu had one. I think that van engine has throttle body fuel injection and 4 bolt mains given it's a 3/4 ton chassis. Parts should be reasonably priced and easy to find.  It's a testament to it's longevity if the mileage is correct.  While that's a good price, you could make money parting it out.  But if you want to drive it, be prepared to spend more than another $600 on it. If it sat that long outside, all filters and fluids will need to be changed, especially gas.  It could be a situation that you can fix minor problems a little at a time and not get hit with a giant repair bill at once.  Good luck whatever you decide.

It's probably a bad buy.

What do you need it for? Does it run?
