Hey Scotty, can you do a video on some of these hybrid conversion kits popping up? Is this worth it on a dependable decent used car for either fuel efficiency or performance? Any downsides? Would it work on manual transmissions or different drive configurations? Link:

Thanks!
Sounds like a great way to sink $10k into your car, make it less reliable, and IMO - at best consume 25% less fuel.
Most hybrids come with a lot of compromises like slow and noisy Atkinson cycle engines, weird slow/jerky gearboxes like an E-CVT or a DCT with an EV motor built into it... and even with those hybrids offer only ever-so-slightly higher efficiency then a simple and cheap diesel.
Even PHEVs don't make much sense, Buying an extra power-train just so you can avoid using the primary one? you have all of the disadvantages of owning an EV and charging it (without the major advantages) and you have a petrol car you have to service and fuel up (but without the advantage of it being much simpler then a hybrid and not having issues in 100k-150k miles years once those batteries degrade)
It would cost a small fortune tax they turn a normal car into a hybrid car they are so complex
Why a hybrid? Why not just convert using an all EV kit instead?
