[Solved] Timing Chain replacement

I have a 2010 Ford Expedition with 209,000 miles and I have a new transmission and transfer case. Should I do a timing chain replacement on my truck? I don’t hear any noises and it drives fine. I’ve been told that I should have this service completed. Please help.

Timing chains don't really wear unless they're run low on oil constantly. Find a real mechanic with a high-level scan tool like Scotty has and have him look at the ignition timing. It should stay relatively constant at idle. Scotty's done several videos relatively recently, where he's diagnosing idle issues, and he mentions this. Just loading the parts cannon and replacing the chains without a true professional's opinion and not that of somebody trying to sell you stuff is an expensive and probably unnecessary endeavor.

I agree with Justin, but I'd also like to add this caution - the mechanics who want to replace non-wear items that are function perfectly, and/or fire the parts cannon (replace stuff until they accidentally fix things)?

They are usually the ones who do a half a## job and you end up with more problems and leaks.

Thank you all for your input. I just watched the car wizard trash the 5.4 liter 3valve engine and got nervous. I don’t have any problems and want to keep it that way. If the engines are so bad, why do I see so many of them with well over 200,000 miles?
