Hey Scotty! I recently ran over a big nail and got a flat with my 2002 Camry (197k miles), so I was wondering if it is possible to plug or patch the tire to save money, or if I should just junk the tire. I posted a picture of the tire on the link below. It's a Firestone All Season 205/65R15 94T:

You could plug the tire, but that's more of a stop-gap for a temporary fix. A proper patch done on the inside of the tire could last as long as the rest of the tire.
Here's an explanation in more detail https://www.autozone.com/diy/tire-wheel/tire-plug-vs-tire-patch
It looks repairable. I've fixed damage like that with plugs, though the best way is to dismount the tire and patch it from inside.
How old is the tire? It looks pretty well worn.
Thanks you, I'll have my local shop patch it from the inside. The tire is about 1.5 years old, I drive a lot of miles per year, about 15,000 miles.
Plug or patch, don’t toss, unless it is totally worn out and unsafe. But from the photo, it looks pluggable or patchable.
Oh no, did you remove the nail already?
Plugs work fine in my experience, but you have to plug it as soon as you remove the nail.
Take it to a local tire shop and see if they'll fix it. I've had an incident which they didn't accept to fix it because the nail had gone deep and stating liability concerns. But aside from this it is repairable.
