Sir,
I am moving to the Tokyo area with my family and we want to buy a newer family car. What should we buy, should be buy it or lease it the next three years? Many of the cars we are sold on base are older cars 3-5K. The problem with those cars is that it is harder to pass the Japanese inspection year after year.

With those restrictions, I’d just lease something.

If you know it to be 3 yrs and then leaving for sure, a 3 year lease on a new vehicle should alleviate any vehicle worries/issues during your time there. 1 situation where a lease makes sense imo.
