Toylet camery

Topic starter

I recently bought a 2000 toylet camery (not a fan of toyota's) for my son. It was $3800. It was well maintained and has 200k in mileage. It is just for my son to go to work and home. What issues do I need to look out for. Im planning on showing my son how to do spark plugs in a month or two when the weather warms up.

Just do basic maintenance, but hey a toilet doesn't really have any value so you over payed.

I don’t understand why you don’t like them. But everyone has their preferences.  They’re among the most dependable vehicles on the road and have been for some time. At 200k not knowing it’s maintenance history, especially with a young son driving it, I would recommend full synthetic oil on a 3k change schedule. I’m assuming Automatic tranny. If your AT fluid is clear You can continue to change it and the filter every 30k miles, NO flush. If the fluid is cloudy or dirty looking don’t even change it. Sell it or drive it til it dies. But general rule on Camry’s if they have been taken care of at 200k they’re just broke in good. Many peeps getting 300-400k miles.

i will sell you my '97, 198k miles, only $3500 lol

if it were my kid, would change the oil, service the transmission, new air filter, change the belt, then let it rip

we have 3 camrys in the family, all still running fine

Toylet Camery? If this is an effort to be funny, it failed, miserably.

Well said @conal-lane

I dont recall trying to amuse you. I asked a question about a vehicle manufacture I dont like. Not your comments on if It made you laugh. {black}:serious:

If you don't like the car, you can expect issues in your head even if it will work great.

Just do normal maintenance. Any car companies you like except Toyota?
