Toyota Fielder in safe mode

Hey Scotty, i got a 2003 124 Fielder with the 1nz-fe, its the AWD model. Got it second hand, realized the rear axles were missing so the awd isnt working anymore, im assuming the diff went out, but how do these systems work? Would the ecu realize theres no power going to the back or should the car still read wheel speed sensors like normal and operate like it should? Because the car would randomly go into limp mode, check light, tyre pressure, abs and handbrake lights would come on at once, and only 2nd and 3rd gear works, the engine and transmission went(engine blew a seal and ran dry and the transmission lost reverse gear, changed engine and transmission, same issue. I stuck with the 4wd transmission to avoid having to alter mounts and the subframe for the 2wd one. Then one day it just stayed on the limp mode and never came off since. If i reset the abs light from the dlc, the car would start normally, in first gear like it should, but the second i start driving, all 4 lights back on and its back to 2nd and 3rd gear. Is this ABS related? Should i put the 2wd transmission and ecu or is it not necessary? Dont really plan on making it AWD again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Note: the 2003 Fielder is just a Corolla wagon.

No-one knows - that's not something that anyone has tested.

What codes are you getting? it might be a big clue to what's actually going on.

I'm really unsure if anyone can help you with what you're doing - But as I see it, your best bet is to read codes, understand what's causing them, and try to restore it to a condition as close as possible as to what it was OEM.

To me, It really sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

What code you got? You should start from there but odds are that since the AWD system is messed up, the car computer is trying to compensate for that and because it can't, it puts the car in limp mode. Considering the conditions of the car and repair cost, I think you better off get rid of that car than spending money into it.
