Toyota vs. Bondy Arbitration Case Denied - 2020 Tundra with Missing Transmission Cooler

Scotty - - I took my claim regarding the missing tranny cooler all the way to arbitration and was denied again by the arbitrator and Toyota. Please see the "smoking gun" evidence attached. Both my window sticker and p. 34 of the 2020 Toyota Tundra eBrochure show the vehicle to be equipped with a "supplemental transmission cooler".  I'm beginning to think this arbitration process is rigged. What is your suggestion for my next move?  I am very disappointed with Toyota and the NCDS (National Center for Dispute Settlement) process. My truck is still under 10K miles and covered under the original factory warranty.

Text from eBrochure:

MAXIMUM TOWING6 (lbs.)
5.7L V8 Tow Package includes: towing receiver hitch, 4.30 axle ratio, TOW/HAUL mode switch,
trailer brake controller, supplemental engine oil cooler, supplemental transmission cooler,
heavy-duty battery, 170-amp alternator and 4-/7-pin connector

Here's the link to the eBrochure: (see p. 34)

Frustrated!

Binding or non-binding arbitration?

Um, your link opens up a MY2021 eBrochure. Only has 23 pages, and the verbiage under the Specs for Maximum Towing doesn't have the oil cooler or transmission cooler listed.

controller, heavy-duty battery, 170-amp alternator

I checked a 2020 eBrochure for Tundra and it does indeed say all that on page 34 in you OP.

That sucks that they're not making it right.

Thanks for the correction on the eBrochure. The arbitration is non-binding, I don't have to accept it.  In Texas, my only recourse may be to take Toyota to small claims court.  That's why I asked Scotty for his advice on my next move, since he is an old Texas boy.

Take it to FB, Twitter, your LOCAL TV station.

DON'T take it to court here in Texas. They will side with the arbitration outcome every time. Been through that whole spiel.

If it bugs you so much, sell the truck and get something else. Otherwise realize that you're just going to have to live without the cooler.

My last resort will be to add a cooler at my cost.  I really like the truck otherwise and definitely don't want the 2022 Tundra with the turbocharged engine, I'm old school. The link below is evidence I'm not the only person with this problem . . .

These guys see the business opportunity. In the meantime, I'll be servicing the transmission more often than I would have if the cooler was installed. Open for suggestions.

Thanks

I almost forgot to mention that during my arbitration hearing, the Gulf States Toyota technical representative admitted Toyota was working on a "retrofit solution to this problem", which indicates there are many complaints that the tranny cooler is missing.  He also acknowledged that "it is very early in the process". The other actions I've taken (whatever this is worth) is to file consumer complaints with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and the Texas Attorney General.  I would encourage anyone that purchased a 2019-2020 model year Tundra should do this. I'm thinking the more pressure (and bad press) put on Toyota and its dealers, maybe they will decide to do the right thing and install tranny coolers for customers that request it. I certainly don't expect a recall.
