Hi,
I own a Toyota Yaris 2009 1.4 Diesel with engine ND-1FE.
It has 260.xxx km on it.
I got an engine light 5 months ago, P0122, so i tried to order a used throttle body that is supposed to be good.
I replaced it a few days ago, but the code did not go away. I tried to replace some of the wires near the throttle body, they were a little scratched some places, but still no luck.
I have an okay scan tool from Foxwell, to do troubleshooting and a multimeter, but not more than that.
What should my next move be? and what things can i troubleshoot further?
I have heard some places that this P0122 could also be caused by a bad accelerator pedal, so should i try to order one of those to try it out?
I really hope you can help me.
Hi,
- Given the code is "Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input", I'd check if the throttle position sensor voltage is actually low.
- If that's alright, I'd check the wire continuity and if the ECU is actually getting the voltage.
- What is the voltage shown under "live data" compared to the pins at the ECU?
Looking online:
"the TPS voltage should be between . 2 and 1.5 volts. It should increase to 5 volts when you open the throttle plate.",
"At idle, voltage is approximately 0.6 - 0.9 volts on the signal wire. From this voltage, the ECM knows the throttle plate is closed. At wide open throttle, signal voltage is approximately 3.5 - 4.7 volts"
Why not?
That's a code for your Throttle Position Sensor so why would you change your Throttle Body? I think you're gonna need a better code reader. Here's some info.
The throttle body and the throttle body position sensor is built together. So I could not change the sensor without changing the whole throttle body. :/
But since i already tried to change that and tried to replace the wiring near the throttle body, could the gas pedal be the reason for this? I know the code is foremost for the throttle body, but could the gas pedal be the actual reason for this code, or is that not possible?
