I have a 2019 GMC Acadia SEL AWD:

1) How do I read the transmission fluid dip stick? There two depressions  on the metal end In between is ‘CHK XXX HOT’ on the flat part. Do I add fluid till the fluid hits the top depression?

2) What lube do I use in the transfer case I have found 3 choices along be told 3 different things, Red - Automatic Transmission Fluid; 75W90 gear lube; Blue - AutoTrak 2 Fluid.

Help….

Thank You

Do I add fluid till the fluid hits the top depression?

ONLY if the transmission is at normal operating temperature. The bottom mark is for "cold", the top mark is for "hot". which is the normal operating temperature of the engine/transmission. To check the level, just drive the vehicle around for say 10 mins allowing the engine and transmission to fully warm up. Park on level ground, check the level. You want the fluid level near the "hot" mark but not exceeding it..

Thank You! That is what I thought but wanted confirmation.

You're welcome, Mark!

1) a photo would be very helpful, but you probably want to be on the hot depression when the transmission is hot.

2) GM 89021677 SAE 75W90 synthetic axle lubricant.

Thank You!

I was going to attach a picture, had taken one of the end of the transmission dip stick.

I was getting too many opinions on what fluid to use my transfer case I even found a gm part number but the graphic that went along with did not show a weight that was on a gm/gmc web site.

Thanks for confirming what my research had come up with. Had 2 different mechanics tell me different along with a long time auto parts counter person tell me different but none could confirm their answer.

Thank You for your help
