What would be the Best Vehicle, new or used, for a Family of 8 in the mountains of West Virginia

I might be Moving to WV soon. I have 6 kids that are moving into their teen years and our 2012 Toyota Sienna feels cramped. Im looking for a reccomendation that fits 2 specific needs. traction on steep snowy roads, and head and leg room. some of the roads might be gravel and so some height above the ground would be better im thinking. Im not as familiar with the newer sienna vans. if they are spacious enough we could go that route, but is the AWD good enough or would a 4x4 suv be better?
The current and previous generation Toyota Sequoia may fit the bill. The current and previous generation Highlander as well. And the new Grand Highlander is a little bigger than the Highlander.
The Sienna would be more of a lateral move. About the same or just a bit bigger than the 2012. But the SUV listed above will have better clearance.
