I have ford escape 2012 3.0 V6 AWD 186,000km the transmission shift a little rough, I don’t know if that’s the way it should be I just bought the car. I’m considering changing the transmission fluid I saw online that it can make the transmission shift smoother.
I know that after some mileage it is not recommended, what should I do? Is 186000 is too much mileage to replace the transmission fluid? I don’t know if it was serviced before

Look at the fluid first. But 186k mi is 'high risk'
Km not miles. That’s still risky I think but not nearly as much as if it were miles
oh km. that's 100,000 miles
It's unlikely for the clutches to be totally shot at that point
