I have 2005 Buick Lesaber 2005 with 156000 miles.
I took your advice; I baby the car and also added Lucas transmission additive 1 quart in the last transmission drain and fill. I do drain and fill every 50,000miles with filter change.
My car works fine when its cold or when driving on the highway. It acts up after its warmed up and does a bit of jerky gear changes especially in 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I also noticed that the cars temperature needle when its at the middle its does the hard shift. If I drive it a bit hard or let it sit for 5 minutes it works fine but later comes back.
P0960 & P1811 code came once at 126000 miles and has not returned after adding Lucas transmission additive (1quart)
My question; Have you ever used a shift kit? 4T65E Transgo
What is your suggestion? Drive it till transmission fails and do not spend money on the car? Kit is $50 and Mechanic wants $500 to install it with fluid replacement?

Please don’t double post, thanks.
Your transmission is starting to go out. If you put a shifting kit on your transmission, it won't do anything to improve the transmission. I would drive it until the transmission fails.
Yes, an incorrect MAF signal can cause poor shifting. The computer uses it to decide how much power the driver needs.
Hey Scotty I am confused,
My car has been having hard shifting for some time. I was about to change the shift solenoids and add the transgo shift kit in it. But luck would have it the Mass Airflow Sensor vent out again to the point the car stalled completely before the rpms where not steady. This was the forth time in 2021 since February and the parts I had bought earlier were from Orielly and AutoZone, so I went all out and bought the original from the dealer.
I could feel the difference in the cars performance, the mpg went up from 19 to 22 and the transmission hard shifts went away.
My question is; can a mass airflow sensor cause the transmission to do hard shifts?
I have been driving the car for three weeks now, doing the same routine drives where I felt the hard shifts after 30min of driving have now have gone. How could I have analyzed the data in the dealer level scan tool that the mass airflow sensor was causing the transmission to shift hard? The previous mass airflow sensor showed it was working fine, oscillating with the engine rpm and the readings were almost at the engine capacity of 3.4liters.

The previous mass airflow sensor showed it was working fine ,till it stopped randomly, the readings oscillated with the engine rpm and the readings were almost at the engine capacity of 3.8liters.
