Mr. Kilmer, I have a 2007 chevy tahoe 5.3 LT 227k miles. When my engine is cold, my reverse gear will not engage. I can feel it jerking trying to get in gear and when I push the gas, it does not move. When the engine is hot is when my reverse works. About a year ago I had to have a gasket replaced to stop an oil leak that required the transmission to be dropped. The gasket was between the engine and transmission. Every since the shop I took it to did this repair, its been doing this. Also, transmission acts like it does not want to shift from gear 2 & 3 at low RPM. When the RPM's are high, it shifts very smooth. I need your expert advise. Please help
I would assume the guy screwed up the job and somehow plugged up holes sending the fluid to reverse realize that it takes pressurized transmission fluid inside to make the gears work it's not like a standard transmission where the gears are always connected and the oil only lubricates them
