I have a 2010 kia sedona, I took it to a mechanic for a tune up. He said it was going to be around $600 because they have to take the intake apart. Does that sound right?

If it's a V6, yes, you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the rear plugs. If you have a 4-cylinder engine that's way too expensive.
I think places charge too much in general but yes, some cars you have to take a bunch of stuff off, intake manifolds generally and it gets to be a lot of labor.
Some will depend on where you are located. Larger cities the labor costs tend to be higher.
Find out what they are going to do ~ PCV valve, fuel filter and oxygen sensor are good to change while it is apart.
If you are at the dealer - the parts may be a bit more expensive (as well as the labor).
Independent shop make sure it is someone you trust - check AAA or get a recommendation from a friend or two on
where they take there car. What kind of parts they will be putting in. Good parts and putting them in right, is the
most important. As the labor is a fair amount of time and work - getting all that needs to be done and having it done
right will save you in the long run.
Hope this helps some
