Scotty, I have a 22 Camry TRD.  Picked it up 11/29/21.  Has 2700 miles on it.  I live in WI, but I've washed it weekly and don't drive much in snow at all.  Another guy in one of my fb groups posted that his is rusty as well.  He has had his 1 year.  Said it rusted before winter.  He took his to the dealer and they told him "it's normal".  Several others posted theirs is rusting as well.  Seriously, a 4 month old car's bolt is this rusted?  What will it look like in 5 years?  Mine is the black, the other guy's is the white car.  It's at the 9 o'clock position in the picture.  What are your thoughts?  Notice on the black pic the bolt next to it is still shiny.  Not sure if this is specific to the TRD or all Camry's.

I don't know how common this is, but I'd document the heck out of the rusting, get what the dealer says in writing, and if you think it's worth it, take it up the corporate pyramid.  This is how things get on the approved warranty list or Tech Service Bulletin. You can do a customer service/dealer complaint online here:made

Imported vehicles come into the US on large ships traveling thousands of miles over salty oceans.  If the cars themselves don't, most of the parts do.  If manufacturers do not use plated parts, ie hard chrome, zinc, etc., they are bare steel and will rust (oxidize) almost immediately when exposed to salt and water.  Probably a money saving move.

Well ask the dealer for a new bolt if you think it's a good use of your time. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.
