Ive seen your videos, so i am curious, what would you suggest is a good car to use to go back and fort to work. I would guess total miles would be about 20.
Im a houstonian, glad to see you are doing well
how about a Yaris
Unpopular opinion but a new Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback. You can get them for so cheap and they have a fantastic 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. I own three of them (two sticks, one auto) and my wife has one with the automatic. They'll easily get 40ish MPG and are super easy to service.
@dodge-aries-k
You are the first person I've seen on here to even mention that car lol. It's pretty underrated and people frown upon them due to all the car reviewers talking bad about it.
Do you have a budget in mind?
When you say "commuter car", I'm thinking a small sedan/coupe/hatchback is what you want. Something like a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla....you probably can't go wrong if you like it and get a good price.
Honda Accord or Toyota Camry would be my choices.
And hello fellow Houstonian!
For a commuter car, you cannot go wrong with a Toyota Prius. They get over 50MPG and they have a ton of space for passengers and cargo. I’m not sure if you plan to buy new or used, but you can expect to get 10+ years completely trouble free out of the Toyota Hybrid drivetrains. I have a friend whose grandma bought a 2010 Prius, drove it for five years then gave it to her, it’s now 10 years old, has over 160k miles and has only needed routine maintenance.
The new ones start out around 25k, but a loaded model is only around 30k. Plus, even the most basic Toyotas come with all the safety features now, like adaptive cruise control, which I really appreciate in my truck when traffic is busy.
Thanks guys, yeah jjst wanted something to hold me by until i can stash some money for a better thing. Few incidents with family issues and was trying to save as much as possible.
Thanks to all
If you're 5'10" or shorter: Honda Fit - Cheap ($16,000), basic, great gas miles, reliable, small. Or Honda Civic, legendary reliability if maintained, harsh ride, road noise, uncomfortable seats. Nissan Sentra, 70% plastic, very cheap feel, marginal reliability, seats like wooden bench.
Any height: Honda Accord, everything's nice about Accords. Toyota Camry LE, cheap, basic transportation. LE/SE, much nicer, XSE V6 great !
Hyundai and Kia: Hyundai is the dad, Kia is the son, now made on same line ! Basically Mitsubishi, but made cheaper, start falling apart about 60K and they never stop after that !
Anything GM, Ford, Chrysler walk away.
LOL
