You've told us that the best brake pads to get are Akebone. Never heard you recommend a car battery brand. What brands are the best to get?
Since most batteries are made in Mexico, buy something with a good warranty. I go to Walmart and find one that has been recently made with maximum CCA rating for the correct battery size.
I've been buying Walmart batteries for ages and not had any problems with them. (There's only a few actual manufacturers providing for all of the battery brands that you see being sold.)
It doesn't matter what brand it is. Get the highest CCA rating at the lowest price. Done.
Get the best warranty and cheapest price combination. Don't buy them at auto parts stores, that is their cash cow. I bought an AutoCraft Silver battery from Advance Auto (their house brand) for my Ranger. It was somewhere close to $120. Only had a 2-year free replacement warranty, which has passed, and it's wearing out already. I drive 25 miles one way to work on the highway, which is pretty much as ideal of a situation as you can get for long battery life. Took it there to figure out why my battery light comes on intermittently and the guy said the battery is weak. They don't carry that brand anymore, it's all Die Hard, which is a former Sears brand. A new battery for my truck is $180 with the same silly warranty. They're basically profiting on name recognition, I highly doubt modern Die Hard batteries last as long as the old days.
I could buy a battery from Rural King for $80 with a 60 month pro-rated warranty, plus the two year free replacement.
Walmart's EverStart batteries are impressive for their performance. Troubleshooting my Catalina a few months ago to figure out why it wouldn't run, I drained the battery from two days worth of trying to start it. Put it on the charger, it's going just as strong as before, and it was $60.
OEM batteries have been excellent for me
As it happens I just had a WalMart battery fail in one of my vehicles yesterday. The battery had a manufacture date of 3/2013, so I got about 9-1/2 years use out of it. Of course most will not last that long but no complaints here, I went out and bought another WalMart battery to replace it.
Buy whatever Costco has. They really stand by their products whether it's car battery or tires. I've bought batteries from them multiple times and I know they stand by it if it ever fails. Same thing with their tires; they replaced for free even though a nail had gotten into it and had nothing to do with manufacturing defect or anything.
Btw, Costco batteries are Interstate brand.
As was mentioned, many batteries come out of the same factory.
Project farm on youtube does a nice battery test. Basically the two top batteries was the everstart Maxx (Walmart) and Duralast Gold (auto zone). As the tests shows, the batteries are exactly the same with a different label on them, made by johnson controls.
Just so happens I bought an 05 Matrix a couple of months ago to fix up and run around in. It had a really old looking battery, it was a duralast gold from 2013! The thing still did okay, but with winter coming up, I went ahead and got a new one, walmart everstart Maxx this time, I hope it does as well.
Sadly, what sometimes happens is a company will make great batteries, get some bright idea to make more money and make them cheaper. I found that out with Optima about ten years ago, I will never buy another.
What is the best battery replacement for a Cadillac SRX 2011 FWD 3.0 engine.
As far as I know, your car doesn't require a special battery. Just make sure it fits in the tray. If the old one worked fine and lasted long enough, buy the same thing again.
Hook up a power source if you don't want to lose your memory settings.
After you replace the battery, make sure to you get the alternator tested too.
I second the motion for Costco.
I second the motion for Interstate.
Costco uses Interstate.
I’ve also done OEM Toyota, which was Interstate at the time.
