Vehicle: 2012 Ford E350 Super Duty Base, 5.4L Flex Fuel. 6668K hwy mileage. A chain shop that sells tires and does repairs did a free brake ispection. They gave me a quote of over $850. Said I needed Front Brakes. Both calipers, pads, and oil seal, and repack the both sets of wheel bearings. I think they are off their rocker. Ford said in my van the the front bearings never have to be touched. In my opinion at most I would need pads and maybe the calipers recut or replaced. Assuming the hoses are still good, and the fluid is good, that it. What's your opimion Scotty?

you have 6.6 million miles on it?

These are fairly straightforward things to check for the average person. If you can remove a wheel, you can check your brakes and rotors.

Probably just rotors and pads unless your calipers are leaking. Did you inspect them yourself? You might not need anything at this time...

If you want to have a piece of mind, you can have an independent mechanic to check your car.

Ok

I checked Rock Auto

Pads,,,,,,,,$27

Rotors,,,,,,,,$$97

Calipers,,,,,,,$80

Pad and Rotor Kit,,,,,,,$156

If all you need is pads and rotors, and you can replace them yourself, $156 plus shipping is a far sight from $850

Check Rock Auto for the parts and get the rotors and pads. Get the ones with the Heart next to them. If your calipers are working now, they are probably fine. Otherwise, Hello Rock Auto.

Just my opinion
