I have a 2014 1.4 tsi in a Golf estate That's burning oil at 1L per 500km (1qt per 310mi) all of a sudden. when accelerating there's often a sound that i can only explain as having some rocks in your hand and shaking them. The noise lasts for 2-3 seconds and then there's a big puff of smoke out the exhaust that's big enough to see in the revision mirror and then the noise goes away and the car drives like normal until it decides to do it again.
it only consumes oil driving around town but long trips on the highway it doesn't use a drop of oil, rattle or blow smoke.
also the whole back side of the car gets covered in black soot.
your engine is flat wearing out and when it gets too much oil it will make it rattle from free detonation
