My husband is set on buying used Audi Q7. Probably around 2013 for about 14 000. Miles around 130,000. He's also wondering if he should go with a diesel for 15,000 2014, with 165,000 miles instead.

That is a train wreck waiting to happen. Do not buy a used, high mileage sophisticated, over-engineered German computer on wheels that is out of warranty. It’s a money pit and potential financial ruin. German vehicles are meant to be leased and returned before warranty expires.
