Whether or not to deactivate VCM

Hello Scotty and Carkiller Nation

I have a 2015 Honda Pilot (V6, Auto Trans, AWD) with ~155k miles and no current issues. I’ve read about Honda VCM potentially leading to premature engine wear/failure. My question: should I deactivate VCM system at this stage of vehicle life (age, miles, operation) or best to leave well enough alone? Part of me wants to proceed with VCM deactivation, but perhaps not a good idea at this stage of vehicle’s life?

FYI, I do all the filter/oil/fluid changes and basic maintenance myself on time and don’t care about any small gas mileage improvement that VPM may offer. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

2015 Honda Pilot

The last year of the good ones.

Quite the contrary, at that milage VCM failure is getting more likely (due to wear and tear)

I'd go right ahead and disable it - it's lower risk than the system damaging the engine.

Thanks for input.
