Which brand for Rotors & Brake Pads?

Hi,

I own a 2016 Santa Fe Sport (2.4L) and live in Canada. I need to change all the rotors as well as the brake pads. I have shopped around and am completely lost on these brands. I am looking for coated rotors and ceramic brake pads.

Rotors:

  1. Bremsen
  2. Genuis
  3. NAPA premium

Brake Pads:

  1. Bremsen
  2. Raybestos
  3. Powerstop
  4. Vortex
  5. Bosch

Please let me know if any of these brands are any good and/or if you have a better suggestion!

Thanks.

Akebono (Japanese produced) is among the best pads.

Powerstop rotors aren't bad from what I've read in the car forums I'm been part of. Their pads, eh 50/50 some like 'em - some not so much, and Akebono pads are top-notch.

I would suggest that you get a rotor+pad combo to insure optional performance and less likely to make noise and other problems that arise due to mixing two brands. (For whatever reason there is a lot of inconsistency and incompatibility with a lot of the brands being mixed And it's hard to say which ones will mesh together well as it seems to vary from car to car)

That being said, I've had trouble with powerstop and bosh in the past. Never heard of vortex. Any of the others will probably do good.
