I have a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo V8 305 5.0 liter engine with 2 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. When I crank it for the first time of the day I get a cloud of white smoke from the tailpipe. This is the only time it happens. Is this cause for concern? If so what do I need to do to fix it.
Thank you. {black}:blushed:

It may be oil leaking past the valve guides into the cylinders if it only happens on start up. Check your oil and coolant to make sure it isn't a leaking head gasket. The first one is common but both are expensive to repair.

If it goes away after the engine warms up and you are not losing coolant it would likely just be condensation burning off.
