P0171 Lean Burn

2001 VW Beetle GLX 1.8l Turbo 5spd engine code AWV mileage 45,000

Hi,

My beetle is triggering a P0171 and P0300 codes. The P0171 code seems to happen @ 60 MPH around 3000 rpm and the P0300 seems to happen at idle. Any advice on how to tackle these codes?

I do have a Xtool D8BT and a smoke machine.

Thanks in advance for any help.

 

ps I don't really drive this car much.

I should also add the car has no drive ability issues. If the check engine light did not light up, I would have not known about the P0171 code.
also I noticed I slight drop in mpgs originally 25mpgs to 22mpgs.
