| ... system. I found the leak to be originating from the timing cover. I looked into the needed repair and was really off put by the amount of work to complete the repair and even more so by the cost of the repair if done at the shop. To save myself the stress, I tried the Blue Devil head gasket sealer as I found during research that it could help. It did by reducing the heavy drip to a very slow drip. Recently, I have been putting about 700 miles a week on the truck doing Doordash. The leak has come back with a vengeance. I got an estimate at a shop just to see ... | |||||

| ... inspecting overflow level I saw bubbled coming up from the bottom of the container. Tomorrow I intent to do an oil change myself so can examine oil for coolant. Seems I am leaking coolant into engine 🙁 Is there any chance of a repair, head gasket treatment products, Blue Devil etc? Not going to spend 2K on a head gasket for 20yr old auto. What if I do nothing but add more coolant as it gets consumed, gallon every few weeks? Would just like to get a couple more years out of this car. Just spent $580 on a set of tires last month. | Tacoma Gen 1 Rear Main Seal Leak | 16Relevance | 6 years ago | Hutch | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 1998 model Tacoma with the 3.4l V6 with an automatic transmission. It is a garage queen. Only 111,500 miles on it. I travel for work most of the time and like to ride motor bikes when I'm home. I recently have been noticing engine oil in the drip pan. The oil is mainly near the transmission housing. I searched on You tube and I think my main seal is starting to go bad. I saw a post talking about using this "Blue Devil Rear Main Seal Stop" and it seamed to work in the couple of post I saw. This product is added to the oil. Are you familiar with it? Would you use it? Thanks, Love the channel | |||||

| I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder that I bought for 5,000 with 188k miles on it and the only problems i know are the alternator because the battery dies on me very often which i will replace and the motor fan because it doesn't spin and overheats even though i've put Blue Devil in it properly as per instructions required believing that might fix the heating issue. It gives good cold and hot air when I go around and I slapped on some used Michelins with about 70% left on them still. Alignment is fine and brakes are at possibly 60% since I've last checked. | I have a Tacoma 06 4.0 V6 with 340,000 miles, I have blown head gasket. I’m about to try the Blue Devil sealer and if that doesn’t work I need some advice whether to buy a rebuild Engine with some non oem parts or a used engine with lowish miles (60k+) price is averaging about the same for both used or rebuilt engine and labor. Do you trust rebuild Toyota engines or do you recommend a used engine or have the shop rebuild my same old engine. Thanks | |||||

| "Identical" trans fluid, different colors | 16Relevance | 3 years ago | mtymk076 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I recently did an automatic transmission drain and refill in my wife's 2014 Mazda CX5 GT using Aisin ATF-MFZ. I bought 4 quarts, and used ~3.5L. Three of the bottles were red in fluid color and one was Blue. I checked the bottles and they were word for word identical and just figured that the company sold the ATF in both red and Blue color and I was sent one of the Blue ones by chance, but now I'm second guessing myself. Should I drain and refill again? Or is my transmission OK? Thanks, Mike | |||||

| ... seven we have had in my family ALL developed head gasket leaks between 70-100K miles. These are mostly Forester models between 2001 and 2009, the 2018 is still low mileage. Questions: - Is this a problem with the Boxer engine design? I have heard of the same issues with other models, outback, impresa etc. - Do any of the oil additives such as Barthal smoke stop, or Blue Devil head gasket fix actual help or hurt? I love these cars for low cost of ownership and ease of maintenance, except timing belts. Most have been driven well over 170K some over 200 ... | |||||

| ... king cab automatic. It has 152,000 mi on it. The previous owner put a k&n air filter intake and a magnaflow exhaust on it. Unfortunately, when the exhaust was installed it looks like they broke one of the mounts for the exhaust header. With everything going on right now I haven't really driven my truck that often. There is a slight oil leak so I put Blue Devil Stop Oil Leak fluid into the engine, let it idle for about an hour, and then went for a drive for 45 minutes after which the service engine soon light came on. I brought the truck to a garage and ... | |||||

| Low Coolant | 16Relevance | 5 years ago | NickWantsAToyota | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, Every now and then I check my coolant level in the reservoir tank. It keeps going down. I’ve pressure tested it and it held at 20psi for so long. I use that exhaust leak test test (blue liquid kit) and it stayed Blue. I don’t see any noticeable leaks. What else can I do or is this normal to expel excess coolant? I’m going to try the Blue liquid one more time but let the car run for an hour or so and see. I want to make sure the head gasket is good or bad because my extended warranty is almost up. Thanks | |||||
