| Sorry to keep going on. I'm just a big CR fan as well as a Scotty Kilmer fan- Consumer reports, formerly Consumers Union, is an American nonprofit Consumer organization dedicated to unbiased product testing, investigative journalism, Consumer-oriented research, public education, and Consumer advocacy. | I remember ages ago when Consumer reports "top-rated" the Fiat 128. Hilarity then ensued amongst their trusting readers who took that rating as gospel. | |||||

| It is still an opinion piece just like your own. Whether there was money at play or not, I'd say it wouldn't be the first time Consumer reports did something dirty. Also it's an overall score. So not just reliability for example maybe. Also they are suppose to have a "data sheet" of cars and what people think. For example I am quite the fan of BMW and Benz. For bmw, e30's or z3, for Benz anything in the E class. | |||||

| Unreliable, not credible pay to play. I do not believe anything they say. I am fairly certain that when Consumer reports does a report, it notifies manufactures of cars, vacuum cleaners or whatever, then waits for the checks to roll in. | |||||

| I've never paid much attention to Consumer reports ratings of cars. Although a very long time ago it was pretty funny when CR top-rated the Fiat 128 only to have many of their loyal readers buy them and experience the cars quickly falling apart, with spotty parts availability and disappearing dealers the icing on the cake. | |||||

| Consumer reports is biased IMO. They rate cars based on certain categories and only some of the categories do tell relevant information. They are not really the best source of telling us what new cars are the ones we should buy. | |||||
