| Hello guys. I know this is a apples to oranges comparison. But I have two options. Buying a brand new charger scat pack 6.4 hemi for 40000$$. Or a 2018 Lexus gx460 with 33000 miles for $40000 as well. Both come with warranty. I know FCA vehicles have reliability issues. But it has warranty. Should I get it? I’m conflicted PLEASE HELP. THANKS!! Or should I just do a coin toss? Haha | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I’ve recently been looking for a new vehicle to drive the family around in and i was wondering what your thoughts were on a 2015 LEXUS gx460 4WD. I found a used one that’s being sold at a dealership with 86,000 miles. Would you say this is a reliable vehicle? Around what mileage would you start seeing issues with these? What would be the typical problems these could give me down the line? | |||||

| ... Tsutsumi plant in Japan for 55 years, so if anything, I'm extremely biased. 2 months ago, I was doing the front and rear brake pads on my Lexus gx460 (60k on original pads). I take off the front wheels and do the job, but when I go put the tire on, lower it to the ground, and then start to torque them, one of them on the left front tire snaps in half. To give you an idea, I was using a digital torque wrench and it snapped at 40ft.lb. The next day I had to go buy another wheels stud, take the whole brake system apart again, hammer the old stud out, and pres ... | |||||

| I have a 2022 Lexus gx460. I bought it used and he previous owner didn’t the original wheel lock keys with the car. A tire mechanic told me I need to find a lug nut key for the 8-spline lug nuts the car has. Where can I find such key? I’ve been to AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, and NAPA. No one had one. | |||||

| ... Lower gears increase torque while decreasing gas mileage, higher gears increase fuel efficiency but sacrifice torque. torque is required to push a car up a hill, not horsepower. The Lexus gx460/ Toyota Sequioa has gone through several iterations since 2002. The transmission in the 2002 Sequioa is a 5-speed, the one in your new Lexus is a 10-speed. Governments have mandated getting the most miles as possible from a gallon of gas, so Toyota is increasing their "speeds" to compensate. A lower number of speeds equals a less efficient engine. There's no way aro ... | |||||

| Annoying, they are really hard to find for sale unless they have lots of miles. I do see one in lancaster, pa on craigslist with 118k for 21k, seems steep but they hold their value. Where do you live? Have you tried a Lexus gx460? I have a GX470 and it is very roomy. I would say check out land cruisers, but they are even harder to find. LX570 is also going to be worse in price. Also maybe a 4runner, not sure how big they are inside, but they look fairly good size. The newer highlanders are pretty big too. | |||||
| Answer to: Lexus LX or Ford Expedition | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | nlord | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Yeah LX for sure. As mentioned, it is basically a land cruiser from Lexus. The GX470 at least, is the Land cruiser 120 Prado turned into a lexus. I heard something about the gx460 not being based on the 120, but maybe the 150? I would not suggest a GX unless you only need seating for 4, maybe 5 adults. I can only fit children in the rear seats, and not overly comfortable. The LX has much more room in the 3rd row. | |||||

I want to keep the vehicle for years — maybe even decades. Should I look into some sort of rustproofing, and if so, which type do you recommend? Thanks for all the car advice! -Jason

| 2016 Lexus gx460, 105k miles, just bought used here in Portland OR, religiously serviced at the San Antonio Lexus dealer (carfax records). OEM Battery 4 yrs old in 12/24. Hasn't passed Oregon emissions testing 3 times...everytime same (4) emission monitors at "unready". Fuel between 1/4 and 3/4. Did a Toyota "drive cycle" procedure and a generic high speed cycle over 150 miles. As I was about to return the vehicle to non Toyota dealer who sold me a car that can't pass emissions (2 Oregon laws broken, 1 federal) the car would only stay running 1-3 second ... | |||||
| Answer to: Which year Lexus GX to buy? | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | nlord | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... 2007-2009. Wanting KDSS is going to really limit the ones you can find. If you are wanting KDSS, I am guessing you want one for off-roading, it is a terrific vehicle for that, and for long comfy road trips. The gx460 is a good vehicle too, but added more bells and whistles, and is rated lower by the owners than the 470. | |||||

Drove a 2003 Boxster, 2009 Audi A5, even a 2004 Mercedes CLK. They all scare me about ending up being money pits. What is your opinion of old model Lexus SC convertible or Mazda Miata/Fiat 124 Spider,or any other suggestions? Thank you for your time!

| Hey everyone, So If you noticed I have been thinking of changing my 2006 GX470 lately but I came to the realization unless I go for a newer gx460 or newer land cruiser/LX570 I will probably not find something as reliable and durable. Hence, I decided to keep it as long as it runs LOL because it has been a very good car for the past 3 years of ownership never left me stranded. My question for fellow gx470/lexus owners what maintenance should I keep up with. Other than brakes, oil changes and fluid changes, belt and water pump etc to keep the car running as ef ... | |||||
