| 2017 Ford Focus ST blowing white smoke after professional repair | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | mtpearse69 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello, Much thanks and appreciation in advance for any help and/or direction you can give. A friend of mine bought in 2017 A new Ford focus ST. It has a 2.0l turbo engine. The car has been gently driven and mostly on the highway. It has about 100,000 miles on it. It started blowing white smoke and losing power. It was taken to a professional mechanic who spoke to multiple Ford dealership mechanics. Together they determined that the turbo was bad. The turbo was replaced with a used turbo (the claim, and the mechanic agreed, that there was only about 5,00 ... | |||||

| Neither is a really compelling choice. Here's an idea of what you can expect from the focus: The VW is not great either, but you do already have it: However if the VW is burning a lot of oil that will wind up poisoning the catalytic converter ($$$$). | |||||
| 2012 Ford Focus 5MT noise | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | brenjohnson124@gmail.com | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty I have a 2012 Ford focus SE with the 2.0L non-turbo flex fuel engine and the 5 speed manual transmission. I recently put a lot of work into the car including a full engine tune up and the front wheel hub assemblies replaced. I also had the transmission fluid and filter replaced with OEM Ford fluid. The vehicle has 92,000 miles on it. It has slowly developed a grinding/ticking noise at idle in neutral, when the engine is revved at any rev range in neutral, and in any forward gear. I haven’t noticed the noise in reverse. I’ve had my mechanic drive ... | |||||

| Don't buy a newer BMW in exchange for a focus. If you think the focus is bad, wait until a water pump goes on those more modern BMWs. The E90 3-series car, which are the generation you mentioned, has an electric water pump that costs $500 just for the part. It's computerized junk that shouldn't be computerized. If you really insist on a BMW, get an older BMW from the early-mid 90s. Cars like a 3 Series of the E36 generation or an E34 generation 5 Series with a straight-six and standard transmissions are about the most solid BMW you will find before going b ... | |||||

| My 2007 Ford focus had motor mounts replaced last year. It needs a new set replaced this year. The A/C - Heat damper switch is failing (because of Ford's gooey damper door issue), the driver side window failed so the shop put in their own switch after trying a replacement relay (which is apparently custom and unlabeled - thank you ford engineers), the other windows sometimes decide they will or won't work, the e-brake line makes constant squeaking, the suspension clunks and its got 145,000 miles on it. I figure its time to let it go to greener pastures. I wa ... | |||||
| 2005 ford focus air conditioning problems | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Zarand | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty! My 05' ford focus sedan will get spotty air conditioning. I've observed it working decently at times, other times it wouldn't work as well. R-134A is fully charged. Also, my AC will frost up at night, blowing some cloudy mist at me. The mothers fusion does not, after testing hers. It also takes my car a long time to cool down the cabin after being in the sun all day, the mothers vehicle took less than 15 minutes, and blew a lot colder. Fans do work, the coils on the front of the vehicle don't appear clogged. I do not have a cabin air filter, the ... | |||||

| 2013 ford focus Ac base I'm a locksmith and I program modules like the tcm on all these focus. They say the parts not in stock but they will get me 1 for an extra $200 bucks everytime🤣. But anyway loud noise when turning on ac last week. Today it stopped I assumed eventually I'd have to learn how to change the ac compressor. But after research it seems that noise was the clutch most likely but since I waited is it time to just replace the whole thing? | |||||

| I have a 2007 Ford focus zx4s automatic And buying a 05 Ford focus zx4 automatic with 60k miles. Would the trans from the 07 fit in the 05? Called Ford. They told me the trans model number was the same, but part number slightly different. Here is the vins 2005 1FAFP34N35W278057 2007 1FAFP34N27W240760 The 2005 is way less miles, and excellent shape. | I bought a 2016 Ford focus, brand new and the odomoter was screwy from day one. While parked, it somehow racked up 300 miles overnight. The dealership didn't believe me, so I set Trip 2 timer to 0:00:00, Trip 2 miles to 0.0mi and drove it for a few weeks. (I don't drive much) According to the computer, it travelled 1836 Miles in 10 hours and 15 minutes. The dealership mechanic absolutely could not wrap his head around the problem as I'm trying to explain that It's a focus, not an aircraft and he's trying to feed me some junk about how the trip timer also inc ... | |||||

| Mr. Kilmer I bought a 2015 Ford focus in 2016. I noticed that the car jerked sometimes in the lower gears. I learned through your channel that the focus has an issue with the double clutch transmission and that Ford has a recall. I took it to the Ford Dealership and they reprogrammed the computer. That seemed to fix the jerking in lower gears. However, sometimes when I go down a hill it seems like the transmission is slipping into neutral. I can give it gas and eventually it will slip back into the right gear but for a short time it revs without power goi ... | |||||
