| Clutch slipping when engine warms up | 0Relevance | 4 years ago | tanago | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello everyone, Car info: Renault 11, 1985, manual gearbox, clutch is fully mechanical. Summary: -new LuK clutch kit installed 10k kms ago -flywheel has never been resurfaced -a tiny amount of engine oil once leaked through the crankshaft position sensor from a cam cover leak probably 4k kms ago Now when the engine is cold the clutch grabs great in any gear, in any rpm, in any throttle input - I tested that extensively. But after the engine stays at operating temperature for about 5-10 minutes it starts slipping when I push it hard after 3k rpm espe ... | |||||

| ... be working well, but the car will not stay on unless I maintain my foot on the gas pedal. I have had to two-pedal (brake and gas) drive my car 3 times to the shop now. The shop claims that it is the idle-air control valve and has claimed to rebuild it twice now, but to no avail. The last time, it worked for a week and now the same issue has resurfaced again. I'm racking my brain trying to figure this out and this has left me very sad as I have known this car to be supremely reliable otherwise. Thanks for any help you can offer me; if I didn't live in Cali ... | |||||
| 2011 Sienna LE 2WD brake rotors? OEM or Aftermarket? | 0Relevance | 4 years ago | francisle | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi all, I currently have 2011 sienna Front Wheel Drive LE. Sometimes when I use my brake, the steering wheels rattles a little bit especially going down hills or when there is more braking needed. I believe the rotors were resurfaced once already. Moreover, should I replace the front rotors only since the rear rotors are less likely to be defective (and less ? If so, should I use the OEM rotor or any after market products? Thank you for your help. | |||||
| 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 stalls out | 0Relevance | 4 years ago | ryandepas | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2001 Ram 1500 with the 5.2L. I Just swapped the old engine for a used one, took the whole used engine I'm using for the truck apart had the heads resurfaced, cleaned everything, new gaskets etc the engine looks brand new now. When the vacuum line that connects from the engine to the brake booster is not connected the truck runs great sounds great doesn’t seem like there is any thing wrong with the engine. When I plug that vacuum line into the brake booster the truck stalls out and dies. Any thoughts? Thank you | |||||

| That's pretty much a judgement call assuming you decide to go with the full clutch replacement. Normally when I did clutches myself I had flywheels resurfaced at a machine shop if there was minor scoring and otherwise left them alone. However that was all ages ago and I have no idea how well Kia flywheels hold up. Might be best to go ahead and replace it while in there. Whatever you decide on that don't forget to replace the pilot bearing along with everything else. I'd also exhaust all other options before committing to the clutch job. On a Kia with that ki ... | |||||

| You asked. I answered. Since the engine overheated you will need to rebuild the top end. The 2AR-FE engine has aluminum heads so you'll need to get those machined (aluminum warps). The engine block is aluminum too , so maybe that'll need to be resurfaced as well. I think the parts you're referring to are called lash caps, but you're going to need a whole head kit anyway. Your so called friend just cost you a great deal of time and money. I would disown the clown. | |||||

The current conundrum I face has been re-occurring over the past 6-8 months. Through my best efforts, I've managed to seemingly fix the issue on several occasions, however, this pesky dilemma has resurfaced once more after 4 months of worry-free driving. I am now unsure what else I might be able to accomplish on my own, and thus imploring the wisdom of this Jeep P ...

| I have a 2012 F150 Lariat 4x4 with Ecoboost engine. On start up - especially on cool or cold days - it sounds and feels like there is a rubbing/grinding noise and feel in the front center/transmission as we drive at low speed. After several minutes it appears to go away. Once the vehicle is "warmed up" it appears fine and handles/sounds normally. Dealer replaced several pinion gears...problem has resurfaced again after about 6 - 9 months. Any ideas? | |||||

Working with a local mechanic, I got the control arm changed. It helped for some time but it looks like I am back to square one. | ... a different Honda dealer than the one I bought the car from for an oil change and upon their inspection (or so they say) they recommend the rear brake rotors be resurfaced and the pads replaced, the right rear caliper allegedly is seizing and needs replacement and the oil pump needs to be resealed ( they first said it rear main seal needs replacing). They weren't sure if it was residue from something else. Does this sound fishy? This is the first model year for the 9th generation Accord. Should a new car be in my future?
