| Hello Scotty, I have xtool ($500-700)scanner maybe 2 years old. I noticed the your go to scanner is the AUTEL. I'm under the impression that you really like that. Was wondering if you have any experience with the FORScan? If you have any comments about the FORScan. Does the FORScan need a laptop, desk top i perfer desk top. Wireless or USB connection. I'm looking to buy AUTEL scanner same price range (500-700). I also have the Blue Driver scanner that works with my phone. I have 2020 Ford Ranger, 2020 Ford EDGE ST, 65 Mustang Fastback, several o ... | |||||

| @scottykilmer hi Scotty thanks for the reply. The xtool D7 allowed me to program a new module with a few key fobs. I bought that scanner because I saw your video on it so thanks. Well truck still does not start. Starter I put in was about 2 years ago. I bought a relay jumper with an on an off switch. When I flipped to on there was a big click and a spark from where the starter was from. I turned it on again no spark but I did here a big click. When I am able to get under the truck after some of the ice and snow melt I’ll give it a big whack with a hammer ... | |||||

| 2011 Ram 1500 Ignition switch has gone bad. I have the new Ignition switch to put in plus 2 blank keyfobs. My truck originally came with regular keys not keyfob style. I have an xtool d7 scanner to program the keys. Do i first get the code with the original switch installed or put the new one in, get the code and then erase the 2 keys that are in the system and then program the key fobs and the original 2 keys that came with the truck? Thanks Much CharlieM | |||||

| I have a 2006 Murano with 142k (which my daughter uses at college). The service engine soon comes on once a month or so, I used my xtool D9 and got a P0420 code and reset it and it runs fine. It doesn't overheat or anything, can I use a catalytic cleaner on it or is there another cause for the code? Or should I just leave well enough alone and keep resetting occasionally?good work | |||||

| My vehicle is 2018/Toyota/Yaris IA mileage 106,000 and automatic. There are no codes that appear and once vehicle starts the cars runs normal does shut off or skipping . I checked the MAF, battery, and fuel injectors and there is no change. Is there a way to check the fuel pump without the pressure gauge. I can get borrow the xtool D9 PRO Scanner but am not sure what I should check. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks. | |||||

| ... it should freely push the piston caliper back so that even the high spots wont cause the caliper to momentarily catch it every time my wheel spins. I think my next course of action is to bleed the ABS with my bi-directional scan tool. I have the xtool Anyscan A30M which claims it supports ABS bleeding. I figure I'll try that and then if the ABS bleed doesn't work, I'll try OEM calipers along with new rotors and pads. If neither of those fix the issue then I'm not sure what else the issue could be. | |||||

| Is there any other way to know about the mileage? By skevin98 Topic starter 29/12/2023 8:28 pm I just happened to see this video by the Car Care Nut this morning reviewing an xtool D7 and at the 8:45 mark it shows the scan tool detecting the actual mileage recorded by the engine computer which according to him can not be changed as could the dashboard odometer. If this product is able to detect the actual mileage in this manner, I would think that others of this quality and price (I think around $700) would be capable also. | |||||

| ... it already. What concerns should you have with a car that has been sitting for so long, what preventative maintenance would you take to make her roadworthy again? thing i plan on doing would be testing the coolant and brake fluid with a multimeter to ensure its not over the 3% possible oil change, and filter change, and when i get the money spark plugs, timing belt water pump and thermostat. Im no mechanic as im an electrician but i would like to have my car last up to 300,000 miles if i can. I would like to learn how to do most of these things myself. m ... | |||||

| ... my sights on the Autel MK908 Pro 2 with the battery tester. I was happy with the layout and OS and appears to be a powerful machine. It has the J25xx device so can code Mercedes and BMW. I nearly have this machine bought but the only issue is the updates. I’ve heard stories that once the subscription ends that the tool is pretty much worthless! Not ideal as I don’t plan on updating it every year (I’m not a mechanic but do coding and diagnostics for others on the fly). The tool is around 1600 bucks so ideally would be wanting a tool to work after the subscri ... | |||||
