| See below: take their information with a grain of salt. Their recommendation to get numerous vehicles are not advisable for long term ownership - that’s what really troubles me. Then again, listen to the mechanics who work on the cars what to buy, and at the end of the day you have to do your own research. | |||||

| Part of the test is Consumer satisfaction (subjective)Bells and Whistles have a hypnotic effect on car buyersAnother is they are testing cars that are a that have been on the road for no more than a year, which is disingenuous, as reliability should not be that big of an issueAlso, if you dropped 70-120k on a car (porsche, bmw, lexus and audi) why would u admit to buying a junk? The people that buy these cars, in general, are looking for the prestige that they believe comes with these name platesIm quite certain 90% of the owners (porsche, audi, etc) dont do ... | |||||

| ... fire due to short circuits (crappy battery wire insulations - this is a lot of vehicles in Europe and yet Toyota managed to keep this silent)Why Honda and GM gets away with engines that make Lada look like an engine engineering powerhouse? Honda claims the turbo, high compression ratios and GDI are all needed to comply with regulations, when the LADA Vesta has none of that and yet it fully complies with Euro6.And why isn't there an investigation into Mazdas being unstable and having no brakes?-IToyota, Honda, Ford and GM all spend tens of millions of dollar ... | |||||

| This forum doesn't have a positive outlook on Consumer reports. I personally sometimes look at their data but take it with a grain of salt. The surveys aren't influenced or payed or they pay out of their own money to buy their test cars and do all their testing themselves so they are in my opinion unbiased but they really aren't that accurate for many reasons. For example an Audi could be rated higher than a Honda. This might be actually true! If you use a Honda 20,000 miles a year and it happens to have a new transmission or engine you might experience m ... | |||||

| Carfax reports are about as useless as Consumer reports. You might as well go and set $30 on fire in your front yard. You can never hold Carfax responsible for anything they tell you. Read the disclaimer. | |||||

| Subaru’s aren’t half bad. Are you have any trouble with yours? Like what Yaser said, I’m not down to mess to much with the computer with aftermarket devices. CR should stand for Corporate reports, not Consumer reports. | |||||

| ... But not every issue is accounted for even on owner forums - some are blown out of proportion and some are frankly underrepresented but still an issue. I trust Carcomplaints over Consumer reports any day, and a lot of buyers unfortunately go off Consumer reports’ recommendation when buying their next vehicle. | |||||

| ... 400 have already burned down in the last couple of years, and one catches fire every 5 days. I'm not sure about your assessment that "a few hundred" are effected, a bit more have already burned down, there's no reason to assume that this rate will be constant if it's age related. "I only care about how I am treated" Well looking at the sheer complexity on new Toyotas and how not repair friendly they are (try working on new Toyotas and see how it's really not what I'd call "DIY friendly"), As I see it Hyundai-Kia treat the owner better, they don't go taki ... | |||||
