| I’ve been looking for cheap but comfortable cars to be my new daily. I’ve narrowed it down to two. A 1998 Lincoln town car with 90k miles for $3k or a 2003 Buick Le Sabre with 98k miles for $3500. Both are virtually rust free and spotless inside. Both run smooth and drive quietly. What are the pros and cons of the Ford 4.6 vs the GM 3800? | |||||

| @scottykilmer After driving the MKz, not a fan either. I found an '04 town car, one owner, 59,000 miles, everything checked out. Thanks for your insight. Without your channel I would have ended up buying a BMW or Mercedes. Rock on! | |||||

| Thinking of buying 2007 Town Car and need some advice about price and things to check | 25Relevance | 5 years ago | Mizelman | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi, I am interested in buying this privately owned 2007 town car: Please note that I live in Canada so the mileage is ~72,000 miles and the price is $8,800 USD. What should be the main things to check on this car before buying it? (I have the ability to scan with Forscan) What would be a good price for it giving the mileage and assuming it is in good condition Any other advice? Thank you! | |||||

| All 3 of those ride on the same Ford Panther platform so they're essentially the same car underneath. The Lincoln town car is much easier to find lower mileage because a lot of older customers purchased them and didn't put on many miles. As long as the engine and transmission are still in good shape, all 3 of those should be very reliable. | |||||

| Longevity- Lexus hands down. Drive 100k and trade out- Lincoln. Lincoln uses those ecoboost motors and they just plain suck for longevity. A LOT of early tech and the use of cheap parts make up those motors. IF you buy the Lincoln, first thing to do is install an oil catch can so you reduce carbon buildup on the valves since it is a GDI motor. Second thing do not miss a single oil change and do the spark plug changes on time, every time. Also, keep the transmission fluid clean by changing it every 40-50k mi. | |||||

| Hello, I have a question about my 2012 Lincoln mkz steeling wheel button lights. They don't light up. On my 2011 Lincoln mkz, the buttons would light/glow up during the dark. On my 2012 Lincoln mkz, they don't light up at all. Here is a picture showing what I am talking about, thank you! | |||||

| ... a 2003 Lincoln town car at the time and I kept the Lincoln because I liked the V8 power and more comfy ride. I sold the Toyota about a year ago. I wish I kept the Toyota because it got much better MPG. Sure I made more money selling the Toyota than I would’ve gotten for Lincoln but Toyota would’ve been better long term “investment”. | |||||

| Hello, i collecting information about town cars. I've checked carcomplains website. So far 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2009 are good to buy. So I've start looking for parts and prices. I could not find anything about the clutch. Checked lot of website. No prices, no parts which is very strange. I know the car has an auto transmission but there should be a clutch, right? Currently i have 2006 V6 Mustang and i assume that town car parts are more expensive, am i correct? | |||||

| An old car like this(especially a free one) I would drive till the wheels fall off. It's a 99 so don't dump any serious amount of money in it because not worth much but I know people who even buy clapped out piece of shit town cars for demolition derbys and weird stuff so there's always a market for them. But hell free car! Take care of it and keep up with your regular maintenance and it should last you a long time. cars were just flat out better built back then and those town cars were virtually indestructible. Just don't do anything stupid like burnouts or forget to change the fluids and you should be fine. | |||||
