Lincoln Town Car Restoration Question

Hello Scotty and Moderators! I have a (fully loaded with every option you could get back then) 1999 Lincoln Town car that was once my grandfather’s, but has been bequeathed to me by my grandmother as a gift. It only has 93,000 miles on it, and it is almost mechanically perfect. Runs beautifully, no leaks whatsoever (not even greasiness or seepage anywhere, seriously!) and it has virtually no rust even though it has never been stored indoors (a little bit on the backside of the rear bumper but meh, that’s easy to fix.) The only mechanical problems are very minor, like a window regulator on one door that needs replacing, and an air conditioner relay that’s kind of hard to get to but not impossible. The main issues are cosmetic. The paint is present and accounted for, but is a little tired if you know what I mean. The headlights are foggy and will need to be replaced, the lenses are beyond repair. And it has a few hail dents. The interior is mostly perfect except for some very minor things that would be expected on a car of this age. My question is (sorry it took me so long to get to this lol.) would this car be worth fully restoring? If I put $1000 or probably less into this car it would look like it rolled of the showroom yesterday. Would that be worth doing? I love this car and it is my daily driver, but I would take it to shows if it were in that condition (assuming anyone would be interested in an old town car lol). Or would it be better to save the money for future repairs? All of the money I would be spending now would be about 70% cosmetic repairs and none of them affect driving the car. But it is very tempting to have a perfect condition car, looking like it did when grandpa bought it. I would like to know all of your opinions. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Also, just out of curiosity, do you think the Town car would make a good show car? It is the last gasp of the old fashioned American rwd luxury sedan. Just curious, thanks 🙂

An old car like this(especially a free one) I would drive till the wheels fall off. It's a 99 so don't dump any serious amount of money in it because not worth much but I know people who even buy clapped out piece of shit town cars for demolition derbys and weird stuff so there's always a market for them. But hell free car! Take care of it and keep up with your regular maintenance and it should last you a long time. Cars were just flat out better built back then and those town cars were virtually indestructible. Just don't do anything stupid like burnouts or forget to change the fluids and you should be fine.
