| Will my Lexus’ transmission fail after the dealer flushed it? | 39Relevance | 4 years ago | Tonyloveslexus | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2007 Lexus is250 with 258,000 miles on it Hi Scotty I truly enjoy your content. You make it fun and break down all the technical terms into bite size pieces. I recently took my 2007 is250 RWD to the dealer to replace my rear differential oil. Nothing was slipping or wrong. I just recently fell back in love with my IS due to your videos. I have always maintained it and it still looks kind of new. No rust, beautiful red, excellent interior. I baby it for years now. While at the dealer they suggested a transmission flush. I have heard all the stories over ... | |||||
| Should I buy this 2006 IS250? | 37Relevance | 5 years ago | CarQuestionAsker | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Ok, the last is250 I found sucked, but I think this one is going to be good. It is a 2006 Lexus is250 with 156k miles, manual, and it has some upgraded parts, new radiator and fan, drilled and slotted brakes with new pads, bc coilovers, a catback exhaust, and cold air intake. I am going to check it out tomorrow. Bringing a floor jack so I can see if there are any leaks underneath, and make sure there is no major rust(Ohio car). We are then taking it to a shop to have it scanned by scan tool and make sure everything is working like it should. Also it has a ne ... | |||||

| Hi all, Looking at potentially getting a 2007 Lexus is250 with 170,000km (canada) on it, or a 2009 Leuxs is250 with 200,000km. the 07 is asking around 8k and the 09 is around 9k. Are there any specific things i should look out for in these cars? It seems there isnt much of a difference in features in 07 compared to 09. Any advice is welcome thank you | |||||
| Impossible to Change Lexus IS250/220D Fuel Filter (According to multiple mechanics). | 28Relevance | 5 years ago | Alex G | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I'm in the UK. I've got a Lexus IS220D. I think the fuel filter is in the same location as the is250. Anyway, I've tried to get 4 mobile (driveway)mechanics to replace it; the first just made his excuses and left, the second said he'd rather take the whole differential out before doing it, and the last two just flat out refused when I told them where it was. I'm currently putting my flat on the market and will buy a Toyota Land Cruiser/truck when it's sold, but I don't want to bodge this in the mean time and be left without transport. Any chanc ... | |||||
| Answer to: IS250 vs IS350 | 28Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I personally would go with the IS350 because it has port injection (cleans back of intake valves and therefore not susceptible to carbon buildup) while the is250 is direct injection-only (and therefore can have carbon buildup overtime). Now Scotty answered a viewer’s question about is250 and carbon buildup and said he hasn’t really seen that issue in his customer’s cars, but I still am weary of owning a vehicle with direct-injection only. I’d go with the IS350. Now is it a good first car for a 16 year old? - that’s a different issue, and you already know ... | |||||

| Engine RPM fluctuates when braking | 20Relevance | 1 year ago | ELEPHANTT | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2013 LEXUS is250 AWD with 78000 miles Can anyone help me with this situation? It's been doing this ever since I got my oil change. I cleaned out the maf sensor, and the throttle body(not thoroughly). Sorry for the bad camera angles. but you can see that my RPM fluctuates when im braking to a complete stop, and when i accelerate, my mph lags just a little. Could this be carbon build up? I also tested for a vacuum leak. there wasn't anything leaking. I used my smoker detector. Saw nothing. Check out the video here: | |||||
| 2007 IS250 RWD Fluctuating revs | 28Relevance | 5 years ago | eriktonev | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi, my 2007 is250 RWD Automatic sometimes especially when it's warm (both the car and outside temps) and I get to a stop and the car is in Drive or Reverse the revs start irratically going up and down between 700-900 rpm and the whole car shakes. When I turn on the headlights or put the car in Neutral the rpms settle at normal idle speeds. When I take off car is driving normally. What could this be ? MAF is cleaned, Throttle body is cleaned, fuel additives on a regular and the alternator seems new, spark plugs are also new. No lights on the dash. Bad maf ? ... | |||||
| Advice for evaluating a Lexus IS250 | 28Relevance | 5 years ago | CarQuestionAsker | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I've been trying to find the right car for a long time now, and I think I finally found one. It is a 2007 Lexus is250 rwd with 172k miles, with the 6 speed manual transmission. It has had regular servicing according to the owner, new clutch and tires recently. The exterior has some minor flaws, molding needs glued on, dents and scratches. The interior has a tear in driver seat and sticky dash. The owner is asking $7600 for the car, which is a bit much but I will try to talk him down. What should I look for when checking out the car? Should I try to bring a s ... | |||||

| Scotty Kilmer says the Lexus is250 is a great car. Other people say they carbon up because they're direct injection. As usual there's always people who contradict someone. Personally I just think of Scotty Kilmer as a honest mechnic and take his word first. I know 1 guy can't know everything, but I'm a tradesman and I always defer to the guys with decades of experience. Which is why if I got a second hand car that cost more than a few bob I'd go for one with indirect injection. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Sorry, couldn't help it. ... | |||||

| I am looking at a 2010 Lexus is250, RWD, Auto trans for a teen driver. Mileage is 106,000, had had 4 owners, a clear carfax, appears to have had oil changes at regular intervals. Struts replaced at 83K, however no record of other fluids exchanged. I have read most of the postings herein regarding the IS 250 which addressed excessive front tire wear and the GDI engine valve carbon buildup. Is the tire wear problem for RWD and AWD? Is the GDI engine to be avoided and can a fuel induction service at a mileage interval be cost effective maintenance? If an i ... | |||||
