I have a 2004 Toyota Camry with 140,000 miles. 2.4 l ,2AZfe engine. I had the resonator pipe and muffler replaced and is still under warranty including hardware and hangers. The hardware that houses the donut in the rear of the muffler broke off on the passenger side and it's being held up by the other rusted hanger box. I've tried to get those rusted bolts out of the frame so I could buy the repair kit but I can't get the bolts off. Do these bolts have nuts attached to them where I can access them in the trunk somewhere? Or should I just take it back to the mechanic and pay for the parts but I'm not paying for labor since he should have changed out those rusted hangers when he did the job. I haven't found any videos on this type of work on YouTube. I can't even find the specs for the body of the car and where these bolts for the housing attaches for this end piece muffler donut housing. I had the work done in July and even then that housing was rusted. There's a one-year warranty on parts and labor and an added 3-year warranty from NAPA for parts. So I'm still in the green for the mechanics work. If anyone has dealt with the situation or has any advice please let me know?
It's really not uncommon for rusty bolts to become stuck like that. When an impact gun won't loosen them, you have to heat them up with a blow torch.I've tried to get those rusted bolts out of the frame so I could buy the repair kit but I can't get the bolts off.
@hixster I had to use heat and a universal hanger kit which worked great. Thanks for the tip.
This video shows how to drop the exhaust. There doesn't appear to be any nuts on the bolts. The bolts appear to thread into the body.

If it's under warranty then having them do the work would be easier.
