Thinking of buying a 1997 CRV 230k miles

230k miles 1997 Honda CRV

I recall one of Scotty's video he said of you get something that runs for dirt cheap, drive til the wheels fall off!

I was eyeballing this because I'm about to have surgery in May, so I can't wear my motorcycle helmet for about 3 months and the Yaris my partner might be needing it to commute to school and possibly work as well.

Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated.

Obviously it's 27 years old and high mileage so not a good long-term prospect. If a mechanic says it's OK and you can get it cheap enough it might be an OK beater for a while.

seems like it was sold, but wouldve been ok if you werent planning on having it long term/as a primary vehicle, provided it was cheap enough

Yeah it was $1500 and it had a bit of a rattle per the transmission. It may have been rebuilt by AAMCO. I think the seller was weird for not providing a location to meet when contacting them.
