Ok community I'm about to send this box truck to the scrap yard, but I figured I'd bounce my issues off you loving ppl first.

Got a gmc savana 3500 cutaway boxtruck with a 5.7l engine, and all of a sudden it died on the fwy but before it shut off it gave a little extra shudder, then never again.

Parts replaced:

New fuel pump (checked and confirmed fuel pressure

Distributor cap and rotor

Spark plugs and wires

Ignition coil

Ignition control module

Camshaft position sensor

Crankshaft position sensor

I'm about to give the battery a jump and pray it starts.

Anything I haven't thought of please all input is welcome. I love you all, the service this forum provides is worth its weight in rhodium.

if it starts then the alternator aint chargalating

Nope no start. Sprayed starting fluid into intake and got a putt putting sound. Unscrewed spark plug and set it just so, no spark.

if spraying in fuel got it going, then maybe the fuel injection is buggered

no spark.

On all or just one?

Is there 12V to the ICM?

ignition fuses?

Why not plug a scanner in? Look for codes. Look at live data. Something is going to stand out.

New spark plugs might have been a nice touch.

UPDATE COMMUNITY!

WELL IT HAS been able to start and run. But when I get on the freeway it shifts into third gear and then as it continues to build it will stop revving and almost shut off. Anything anybody can comment on.

I don't see anything in the thread about fuel filter (replaced with pump?), fuel injectors, air filter, or catalytic converter back pressure. Since it is running you could record some live data while the problem is happening and check it for suspicious readings.

Yes. Apologies. Filter was replaced with pump.

haven't ruled out fault ignition switch yet. GM had big problems with those.

Mountain man Joe when you say ign switch does that include the key cylinder?
