2000 Nissan Xterra died while driving

I have a 2000 Xterra, 3.3 liter engine with about 170,000 miles on it, and while driving it home the engine simply died. The electrical system still worked and the engine would turn over, but it never started. I pulled the fuel rail and made sure the fuel pump was still working. I took the advice of a mechanic and switched out the crankshaft position sensor and nothing. I then changed out the camshaft sensor, which on this model is part of the distributor, and that the rotator was turning when the engine was trying to start and that there was spark. I finally tore most of the front of the engine off to look at the timing belt thinking it had snapped. But the belt was intact and fairly new-looking will only light signs of wear. The tension was correct and there were no missing teeth on the belt so I'm fairly sure it didn't slip time. My brother in law cleared the codes on it when we went to tow it home, and since it won't start and I can't get any new ones out of the computer. But I'm fairly sure the one code that showed had to do with an O2 sensor.

I really like the truck, but I'm out of ideas and ready to sell it to someone! Any ideas?

The code should be stored in the computer memory. You need a higher level scan tool to pull it up.

Besides that, have you tried running the engine with starter fluid?

If you have fuel and spark and the timing is correct, it is likely to be an electrical issue. Since you swapped the obvious sensors already, it may be the wiring or computer.
