Car cranks but no start

2001 Toyota Camry 2.2L with 250,000 miles

Scotty,

My Camry cranks no start. I've replaced the Timing belt, water pump, crankshaft and camshaft sensors, ignition wires, coil packs, spark plugs, fuel pump, and battery. Checked all the fuses, and relays and replaced the fuel pump relay just to be sure and still no start. It cranks over but still won't catch. My husband says there's no spark to the spark plugs BUT I have yet to test them. I am about to go out there now and test them myself.

Any suggestions of what else it could be before I finally give up

Thanks

Did you test any of those parts before replacing them? Diagnosis is preferable to throwing parts at a problem. The troubleshooting section of the FAQ would be a good starting point.

@chucktobias you're exactly right and NO I didn't except I knew the timing was off and the water pump needed replaced. So, that got done first after the new thermostat and coolant temp sensor. The car overheated on my step daughter on the freeway about two months ago now and she had it towed home (cause she had "borrowing" it for 9 months) and I had to have it towed to my house 135 miles away it wouldn't start again after th thermostat was replaced and the sensor.
I had my mobile mechanic come look at it and he checked the timing and it had jumped time, so we replaced the timing and the water pump and still nothing. My husband is the one who replaced all the other parts most likely without checking them to see if they needed to be. Now I do not hear the fuel pump engaging when I turn the key to acc

@sondra69 Was an OEM fuel pump installed? (Or at least from the original supplier, probably Denso for Toyota.) The aftermarket knockoffs frequently don't work properly. That is also the case with sensors.

Also, I have downloaded the whole 2001 Toyota Repair Manual for my engine and gone through it and I am wondering if there is a manual fuel cut-off switch somewhere that may be the reason the car won't start? I do not hear the fuel pump engaging so, just a thougt?

Thank you Chuck Tobias for answering my orginal question!!

@sondra69 I don't think I've ever seen a car with a manual fuel cutoff switch from the factory.

It is not unusual for new parts to be defective. You can test the pump by applying 12 volts directly to it. If it runs that way you have more electrical troubleshooting to do.

Don't forget the possibility of a defective ignition switch. That car is old as the hills so everything needs to be considered suspect.
