I'm looking at a used 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer with the Vortex 4.2l engine. Has 170K miles. Its at auction. I'm looking at perhaps $1,000 if I can get it for that. Of course another $600 most likely for the 'fees', registration etc. Looks good,
Can only inspect by video posted because of the china virus crazy. I got to know some of the people, but of course, NO guarantee that its a decent vehicle. No codes. I'm looking to use it to tow a small RV type camping trailer. Online specs GVWR says 5500#, says Max Trailer weight is 6400#. Is there anything to be concerned? It looks clean. Its a lien sale, sad for the previous owner.
I would pass on it, it’s an auction car and without an inspection by an honest, independent mechanic (of yours) who knows what else is wrong with it. Also it’s a lien sale, it may not have been kept up with the maintenance if the previous owner was short on money. I see it as too much of a headache and risk.
I would pass.
My thoughts too, just needed verification. I do trust the auction people at this particular office, BUT always a risk since can't look at it directly. Thanks
