The transmission could not be shifting into top gear. That 2003 ES300 has a 5-speed automatic, so start from a stop and count how many times the transmission shifts - it should shift a total of 4 times to be in 5th gear when you're going highway speeds. If it only shifts 3 times, then that means it's staying in 4th gear and for some reason it's not going into 5th gear. Try taking it to a trusted mechanic to see if there are any codes for the transmission.

I mean it transmission shifts great.... but like you said its not going to 4th or 5th.... can I use lucas transmission slip ? Or

First off, I know this sounds obvious, but make sure it's in normal Drive and not D3 or D4 ( I say this because that has happened to someone I know). Do not use Lucas transmission slip fix yet. Take it to a good Japanese car mechanic and explain the issue. Once he/she hooks up a scan tool and looks at the transmission codes and data, that will give more info about what the problem may be. It could be a solenoid or it could be something else - a scan tool and a good mechanic will give you more info.

Ok. Thank you

It's starting to kick a little in low gear...yea it still doing the samething not going into 4th or 5th gear .... 60mph on 3k rpms smh... can I post a used trans... or what u suggest?

Hmm if it's bucking in lower gears, then the transmission is likely wearing out. Those 5 speed autos from Lexus are pretty bulletproof so it probably was not cared for well by the previous owners. You said you just bought it a couple days ago - was this from a used car lot or a private individual sale?

It was buy a used car alot... sold as its..... smh...also the engine light is on....

P0171 system too lean bank 1
P0174 system too lean bank 2

P0325 knock sensor 1
P0330 knock sensor 2

P0352 Ignition coil B
P0354 Iqnition coil D
P0356 Ignition coil F

P0340 catalyst system efficiency bank 2

P2241 02 sensor positive current control
Circuit low bank 2 sensor 1

Would the misfires cause The transmission problems or... im hoping it does.... lol

Depending on what state you are in, the used car lots may be bonded by the state. Check out this Scotty video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YGxcnRFrDo A used car lot is required by law to tell you the things that are wrong with the car. I would take that Lexus back to them and demand your money back.

Usually misfire codes won't cause transmission problems. Those codes are pointing to the engine not running right. This is why it's always a good idea to have a mechanic inspect a car before you buy, even if it's a Lexus.

Check out this thread (if link works)... Seems like a plastic piece can break in the shifter and cause overdrive not to work

On a Toyota I had of approximately that vintage, there was a button on the shifter that locked  it out of top gear - check for that.
