Hey all, I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra Access Cab LTD with around 99k miles. I was thinking about flushing my power steering fluid out via the return line, along with a couple other things that I didn't have receipts for from the P.O. I have to assume it hasn't been changed. I have what I think is a rack seep, with a bead of fluid there occasionally. I electrical taped over the small tears on the boot to prevent any more contaminants from entering. The fluid has never ended up on the ground, so I wouldn't even consider it a leak. The power steering fluid level hasn't seemed to have gone down at all over the 1200+ miles after I took some fluid out to put some lucas stop leak in. Would flushing the power steering fluid with thinner ATF cause the rack to start leaking fluid at an alarming rate? I thought I also might mention that my pump makes a slight whine when I turn the wheel from side to side, making me think that old, thick fluid might be to blame. What do you guys think? Should I change the fluid? Thanks!
Yes if you flush it it could cause more leaks I would just add at-205 reseal a couple ounces which is what I use and Amazon sells it
