Hello Automotive Professionals, I recently sold my 2015 Chevy Sonic, it had a catalytic converter issues and the head gasket was either cracked or damn near leading towards cracking. I sold the car and am now in need of a new DEPENDABLE car!

Right now, I stumbled across the below-mentioned 2005 Toyota RAV4 SUV, being sold for $11,999 and was wondering if it would be a good investment, I KNOW the 2016 RAV4's are much more of a better investment but they are too expensive and this 2005 RAV4 is more economically friendly.

With this said again, would the 2005's be a good reliable SUV?

Front-wheel Drive

4-Speed Automatic

Engine 2.4L I4 16V

Mileage 27,401

(P.S. If you guy's had any affordable SUV suggestions I would be happy to look into them and possibly find and buy one of those too!)

Anyways, thanks guys appreciate any advice

Cars are not investments, they depreciate rapidly. That kind of money for a RAV4 nearly two decades old sound nuts. The mileage is very suspect and would need to be verified. The Toyota 2.4L engine is very prone to oil burning.

I'd keep looking.

Did you review the CARFAX report for this vehicle. Notable are the odd oil change intervals performed anywhere from 1,500 miles to 11,000 miles between changes as well as the car being involved in an accident with another vehicle on 10/31/2017 with minor-moderate damage to the rear, the right rear and the left rear.

Even the CARFAX listing advises:

Structural Damage

CARFAX recommends that you have this vehicle inspected by a collision repair specialist.

Maybe stumbled across on a BHPH lot? Grievously overpriced, damaged vehicles with questionable maintenance history are their stock in trade.
