289,000 miles. Replaced Air filter, all O2 sensors, Spark Plugs, and coils. Replaced bank 4-6 valve cover and spark plug seals. I have adjusted bank 4-6 valves per the specs of Intake .008-.011 and Outbund .011-.014. I am getting random misfires and VTM-4 119-1 codes. Google says 119-1 is bogus. The scanner is an AUTEL Maxi AP200M. Is another scanner needed?
Hi I Hava 2006 acura mdx I have the same problem code 119-1 and random misfire..did you ever fix this problem
Hello,
I found the problem. Bosch spark plugs. These were double platnium models. All cylinders were misfiring. I put in NGK IZFR5K-11 Laser Iridium Spark Plugs. The errors disappeared. {black}:laughingoutloud:
Have you checked the fuel line pressure?
Hello Yaser,
Thank you. I am not having any hesitation or degredation with the vehicle. I will get a tool to check it. I replace the air filter cover and the plenum tube to the carburetor. That tube was cracked. I will see about using the recommended fuel injector cleaner from Scotty.
Hello,
I will conduct a cylinder leak test. I have seen enough YouTube to see that sticky valves are the root cause. Also, the VTM-4 119-1 is triggered by all of the Misfires. When the happen, the VTM-4 DTC happens. I have multiple cylinders to check.
Wow.. well done & thanks for keeping us updated!
I had this happen to me with NGK plugs. I bought 4 new plugs for my 1979 Honda CB750K, put them in and the bike just would not run. I took them out, bent the electrode back and with an ohm meter, tested continuity and resistance. Two of the plugs had NO continuity at all. I was shocked. Never happened before. I guess these plugs were manufactured either first thing Monday morning or last thing Friday afternoon! HA!
Hello,
My AUTEL MAXI CP200-M cannot seem to read the VTM-4 codes. The 119-1 is fictious, more like saying, "I don't know." I used my Foxwell 644. The Code is 77-1. This is the rear end sensor. I have replacement on order. Honda 48160-PGJ-003. and new rear end Honda VTM-4 fluid on the way. Should be an easy fix.
This all stemmed from the craxy KAX O2 sensors, 0801021KU1, Amazon said they would work. Error codes galore lit up when these were powered up. I took them out immediately. I used Nippo Denso O2 sensors now.
Hello,
After scouring and viewing many youtube channels and Google searchs, I came up with nothing on how to remove the sensor short of removing the rear end. I decided to cut off a 19 mm Craftsman deep socket to allow my ratchet to attach. I used my hacksaw and cut off about 1/4" off the socket. Then I was able to remove the bad sensor. Before this, I drained the VTM. This allowed me to remove the bad sensor.
Only use NGK spark plugs on Honda's or weird things will happen.
