I originally wrote to you on 10-30-22 about having suspected problems with my BCM in my 2006 Saturn Relay. I tried everything and I'm having difficulty finding someone in my area who will diagnose this problem. The dealership is telling me they are not getting any bad codes. As soon as I drive away the light with a key and a bell went on the dashboard and it is telling me that the car's auto theft system needs attention so now I can't even drive the car anywhere in fear I will get stuck. Even if it is the BCM nobody in the New Haven area will change the BCM. The car dealership charged me $170 and did NOTHING!!! I can get this part at Auto Zone and a good respected remanufacturer of the part is Cardone. The car runs great, but all of these problems related to electrical are driving me nuts. Please Scotty I need help and I'm willing to pay money simply because I like the car. I'm not that deep into this so what do you suggest? Can you find someone to properly diagnose my electronic issues and maybe start by changing my BCM? I'm perplexed.
Below is what has happened since last posted in October:
As a follow-up it turns out seems like it really is the BCM. I have tried all kinds of tests by leaving the door open and the radio would still stay on because I tested the passenger side door as well and it did the exact same thing. I am at the point now where the radio has no power to it at all and the anti-theft light with the bell and key was staying on the dash. Now it is back off. And now is back on intermittently. Also the lights stay on with no alarm and I'm having some trouble with the night sensor as well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. All lead me to believe it is the BCM. I can't drive it anymore because of the antitheft problem and as I research virtually all of these can have a root cause in the BCM, but I'm no mechanic. Nobody local wants to reprogram a used or remanufactured BCM. So now I have little choice, but to take it to the dealer. This is the last place on God's green earth I wanted to take my car, but nobody else seems to want to touch the job. Since they don't make that part anymore they are first going to diagnose the issue and if they determine it is the BCM they are going to take it out and send it off to Cardone to fix, remanufacture and program the BCM. Then they will reinstall and hopefully this will fix all of my problems. I really don't want to take it to the dealer. Do you have any suggestions keeping in mind I'm here in Connecticut?? The dealership did NOTHING for me Scottie NOTHING!!!
Like I said the dealer charged me $170 and did NOTHING!!! Literally NOTHING!!! Suggestions? Advice? Anything I want to start driving this car again...
Thanks!

Hey Scotty!
So this longtime problem is finally solved. The BCM was changed out and the anti-theft system was put in standby mode for diagnosis and simply left there so the car can now operate effectively bypassing the anti-theft system. Now I have no difficulties except the dash light stays on for the antitheft system needing service. Honestly who cares? Because the car is almost 20 years old so the repair wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be.
Well I would say take the BCM out. Send the car down. But realized they don't make Saturns for good reason that they were electronic crapers and there's the age like most GM cars have all kinds of electronic problems, often grounding problems. And if you have a grounding problem that would have to be fixed first. Getting to really good electrical mechanic to check all the grounds on that thing cuz they're notorious for failing
Good to hear you found a resolution.
